02. National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB)

The National Energy Board is Canada’s energy and safety regulator. We oversee safety for the full life cycle of a project – from approval to construction to operation to abandonment. We work with communities, sharing the goal of making energy infrastructure as safe as it can be.

03. Energy Codes adopted in BC

BC has been pursuing energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction goals in buildings for more than six years. In April 2013, BC took the next step towards greater energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction with the adoption of new BC Building Code requirements.
